What We Do

Our Focus

Grassroots helps community and voluntary organisations across Colchester and Tendring to support local people with social welfare services. Our financial support has helped to fund educational projects, support for lonely or isolated people and many opportunities for people suffering from physical or mental health problems.

Education

Education can help children, young people and adults to reach their full potential. Grassroots grants have been used to provide a wide variety of opportunities, equipment and even transport to pre-schools, youth groups and adult learning groups.

Health

Support and self help groups are an integral part of combatting loneliness in people suffering from mental or physical health problems. Grassroots grants have been used to fund literature, meeting rooms and outings for vulnerable people.

Community

Community is the people and places that we come in contact with each and every day. When we strengthen communities, we strengthen individuals. Grassroots grants have been used to bring communities together for a wide range of community fun days and information events.

Our Work

As well as providing small grants to voluntary and community groups, Grassroots provides practical help to the local voluntary sector such as treasurer services for the Colchester Mayor's Appeal Fund and administration services for  Colchester Medical Charitable Trust.
