Voluntary and community groups across Colchester and Tendring are celebrating cash hand-outs in the latest funding round from local charity, Grassroots.
Grassroots, a registered charity which has been operating since 1991, specialises in making small grants to voluntary and community organisations involved in social welfare in North East Essex. During the last financial year £16,063 was awarded to 37 local causes. Grants are awarded 5 times a year.
5 grants totalling £1,465 were awarded in the most recent funding round and details are on the beneficiaries page. An estimated 330 people will benefit due to these awards - a relatively small amount of money to make a major impact in Colchester and Tendring.
Sue Hawes, Director of Grassroots, said ‘Our local voluntary groups are an invaluable resource, improving the quality of life locally. We are delighted to assist their work for the benefit of local residents.
