November brought good news to five organisations within the Colchester and Tendring areas.  Please go to the Beneficiaries page and see who they are.  We congratulate those who work within the organisations on their successful application and wish them well with their plans.

An invitation from local MP Will Quince to local charities was taken up by three members of Grassroots.  A visit that proved to be interesting and informative.  Sue said that “having stood in both the House of Commons and the House of Lords we have a renewed interest in the workings of Westminster”.

It is A Very Merry Christmas and New Year to all our Friends and Supporters at this time of year especially, when we reflect upon the many and varied voluntary organisations across Colchester and Tendring which do so much to combat loneliness and isolation and to support local people in need. Whether it is taking people for a Christmas lunch when they usually eat alone or providing weekly activities which help people to sustain friendships and learn new skills, all of this important work is undertaken by our local voluntary groups, often by hardworking volunteers. At Grassroots, we are delighted that we have been able to make a small contribution towards their work and you can see the most recent grant recipients listed on page 2 of the Winter Newsletter. There are lots of ways that you can help us to help others such as:
